  Wonderland mural and exhibition

V&A Museum of Childhood
26th Sept 2009 to 10th Jan 2010

East London Printmakers' exhibition inspired
by fairytales, myths and legends comes to
Bethnal Green in London.

For the exhibition I created a mural of a
fairytale landscape with my friend Ellie Curtis.
Over the half-term holiday we ran workshops
with children to make characters to go onto
the wall.

You can see more images of the mural here

Also on show are works by 50 ELP artists
in a diverse range of media including prints,
books, installation and painting.

I am also showing three collaborative etchings
I made with Ellie Curtis and a triptych of beard
prints inspired by the story of Rip van Winkle,
who fell asleep and woke up with a long white
beard.

W. B. Yeats book

I was recently commissioned to illustrate
this book cover for W. B. Yeats poems. It was
selected by Seamus Heaney and published
by Faber and Faber as a part of a series to
celebrate their 80th anniversary.

All the book covers in the series are by
British printmakers and feature images
from original linocuts and wood engravings.

Le Gun Issue 4

My etching 'Beard Tie' is
included in the fourth issue of
this beautifully-produced
publication from those crazy
folks at Le Gun, a collective of
illustrators with a dark sense of
humour and a penchant for gin.
